equation of a curve

I created a simple curve on excel using data points. How can I get the
polynomial equation of the curve ?

Hi Naty

Right click on one of your data points and select Add trendline.
The trendline dialog boxes offers a number of options for
type of trendline, showing equations in chart etc.

Or you can use LINEST; see

Well, thanks for the advice, but I think since my curve is not linear or
something, it doesn't give me the Add trendline option. My curve looks like a
3rd order polynomial.

Hi Naty,

You have to be using an XY Scatter chart, not a line graph.
The scatter graph allows for polynomials from 2nd to 6th orders
amongst other options. How is your curve and data setup?
