Cannot open Excel files.
i cannot open any excel files directly from there location. When i try to
access the file, it will open the program to the point just before the workbook is about to be displayed and hangs. No error messages are created and the system does not hang. I can however, open excel files from within excel. Any ideas how to fix this problem? Much appreciated |

Try the usual fix(es) for this problem. ToolsOptionsGeneral uncheck "Ignore other Applications" Exit Excel and try again If this doesn't work try to re-register Excel Close Excel first and On the Windows Taskbar 1) StartRun "excel.exe /unregserver"(no quotes)OK. 2) StartRun "excel.exe /regserver"(no quotes)OK. See the space between exe and /regserver You might have to designate a full path to excel.exe. In that case StartRun "C:\yourpath\excel.exe /regserver"(no quotes)OK. I'm having the same error, already try to register/unregistrer but still the
same. Where do I find the "ignore other applications" field on excel 2007? "Gord Dibben" wrote: Wayne Try the usual fix(es) for this problem.
