Excel Links Problems
My office recently upgraded from Office 97 to 2003. Since doing so our
linked Excel Workbooks have been getting a #REF error when opened. I have now re-established the links between workbooks (19 in all) and we no longer get the #REF error message. However, I have now unknowingly created a hierarchy of linked workbooks: Data or source workbook A; then target workbooks B; then final Total workbook C. When data is entered into the source workbook A, each target workbook B (17 in all) must be opened in order to update totals in workbook C. In Excel 97 I would enter data into the source workbook A, then open the total workbook C, and all workbooks B would update and populate workbook C. Has anyone experienced this problem? How do eliminate the hierarchy of data updates in my workbooks? Please help. Tracy B. -- Tracy B. |
