nested links

Hi

I have a worksheet that is linked to 4 different worksheets, each of them
contains links to another 10 worksheets which contains links to other
worksheets.
There are no circular reference amongst them but there are 4 levels of links
at the moment.
Each time when I opened the master worksheet, the links are not
automatically updated to reflect the present data on the lowest level
worksheets (I guess Excel could only update the links at one level).
Is there a way to make the links at the master worksheet up to date without
opening the other worksheets?

Thanks.
Mike

I think you'll actually need to open the lower level files - XL
retrieves the stored values in closed files, it doesn't evaluate whether
those values are the result of a calculation or external reference.
