Moving xls files that have links??

Hi All,

When my current work is complete I am going to have to tidy up my working
documents which ate in different folders. Is there a way to do this and
preserve the links within them please?

Moving xls files that have links??

Hi Bill,
When you move things around from one workbook to another be sure
to group the worksheets that are interrelated to one another together
as a group; otherwise, you will break links between worksheets.

You know what group is, I hope, the thing that if you forget to
ungroup you will damage everything because any change to one
sheet in a group will be made to all sheets in the group. So be
sure to ungroup immediately when finished with a group.

Moving xls files that have links??

Hi Bill,

Provided you maintain the same folder names and relationships, moving them
as a group to a new parent folder should work fine.

If the folder names and/or relationships change, you'll need to update the
links. For each target worksheet, you can use Edit|Links to point to the new
source workbook location.

Cheers
