Default Setting Dates

Is there any way, without using VB, to record when data was entered in a
cell? Is there any way, without using VB, to record when data was last
modified?

Someone else asked me this, and I'm sort of skeptical, as I don't think
there is a way to manipulate formulae to do this.

We haven't decided what the punishment is for whomever is wrong.

Thanks in advance,
Scott
