VLookup ... Left side?

Excel 2000 ... I know how to use VLOOKUP function ...
However, the data I need to capture is in a Range to the
LEFT of the data I need to target ... VLOOKUP works if
data Range is to the RIGHT of the target.

ie: I want to target a value in Col N ... & then capture
the value (alpha-numeric) in Col J.

How do I do this? ... Thanks ... Kha

Aladin Akyurek

=INDEX(J:J,MATCH(LookupValue,N:N,0))

Substitute the actual ranges for the whole columns if it's
convenient/needed to do so.
