What does "<" mean in an excel equation?

Its for a class and it reads:

W9+12*S2/5<2*L8

I know all the values, but the end result is: 270<200 and what does that
mean?

What does "<" mean in an excel equation?

"<" means "not equal to".

The formula equates to 'True' using your end result of :
270<200

Now what?
