Using ISTEXT across separate Spreadsheets
Hi there, I've got a customer with a single spreadsheet, which uses the ISTEXT function to query lots of other spreadsheets. This appears to be failing, and I can't figure out why. The spreadsheets being queried are protected, (protected worksheet and workbook), but other cells in these spreadsheets CAN be queried using the ISTEXT function...it's just some specific cells which can't be queried. The failing cells don't appear to be different to any of the other ones. The failing ISTEXT function produces a "#N/A" error, but the help isn't helpful at all. Has anyone seen this before, and knows what the problem might be please? Thanks, Tim. -- Adrena1in ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Adrena1in's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=35929 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=557224 |

But I don't think protection is the problem, because other cells in the referenced spreadsheet can be accessed even when the spreadsheet remains protected.
