Hi charlene,
For a value in A1, =INT(A1/10000) deletes the 4 right digits. Cheers -- macropod [MVP - Microsoft Word] "charlene" wrote in message ... is it possible to delete the 4 rightmost digit of a cell ? |

Or if you think it will ever contain letters and digits then you could
try - =LEFT(A1,LEN(A1)-4) Ger macropod wrote: Hi charlene, For a value in A1, =INT(A1/10000) deletes the 4 right digits. Cheers -- macropod [MVP - Microsoft Word] "charlene" wrote in message ... is it possible to delete the 4 rightmost digit of a cell ? |

Charlene........It depends on exactly what sort of data you're trying to
convert. Of the offerings so far, =INT(A1/10000) only works on numbers. =LEFT(A1,LEN(A1)-4) only works if there are more than four characters in the cell. This one should work in all cases, returning the cell value if there are four characters or fewer. =IF(LEN(A1)4,LEFT(A1,LEN(A1)-4),A1) Vaya con Dios, Chuck, CABGx3 "charlene" wrote: is it possible to delete the 4 rightmost digit of a cell ? |
