Missing commas

I have a workstation using Excel 2000. Since installing XP Service Pack 2,
Excel does not show the commas used to show thousands. For example, the
number shows as 47 911 instead of 47,911. Any ideas what would cause this or
how to fix it?

Could be two places..
1)
In Excel, Tools | Options | International.
Check the Thousands separator.By default this is set to "Use System
Separators"

2)
From Windows Control Panel, Regional and Language Options
Customise if needed.
