Excel list feature should search with more than first character

The Excel list feature should be able to search using more than just the
first character of the item in the list.

For example, if I have a list with the following words, catalog, canned,
cartwheel, I should be able to start typing can and as soon as I type in the
n it should find canned.

Today, you can only type the letter c multiple times to find words that
begin with c. If my list contained 100 words with c, this is inefficient.
Other Microsoft programs have the ability to begin typing and it finds the
word in the list, Excel should be able to find words as well.

Does anyone know if this capability is actually available?
Do you agree that it should?
