Diabling Hyperlinks in a Spreadsheet

Okay...I have a list of vendors on a spreadsheet (color coded to engineers in case you are wondering why the screenshots are so wild and colorful), and when I enter an E-mail address, it automatically pops into a hyperlink. I don't want them as hyperlinks because when I go to edit or do something, it makes it hard to do so because it keeps trying to compose E-mails. I would have it as regular text, and it can be as simple as me clicking in the cell to copy the address, and when I click out of the cell, it reinstates the hyperlink. (See pic)

On another spreadsheet I have, all I have to do is right click the cell and it gives an option of 'Remove Hyperlink.'

But even if I choose that option, then it removes the shading, and sometimes the border also. It is really weird!!

But I would even be happy if I could get that to happen and just re-shade it. this one doesn't give me that option if I right click it. (See pic)

So this is a huge pain in the YOU KNOW WHAT! Anyone have any advice??? I just want to be able to 'disable' hyperlinks.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Diabling Hyperlinks in a Spreadsheet

Type the number 1 in a cell and copy it. Hold down the Ctrl key and
select the hyperlinks you want to disable. Right mouse click and
select Paste Special. Select the "Multiply" option and click ok. Your
links will be gone. Just one note, if you double click on one of those
cells, it will re-activate the link.
