Default Text To Column

We have part numbers like this one "ACC0123". We are trying to seperate the
ACC and the 0123. However, when we do the text to column and fixed width, the
"0" gets dropped. Have changed the field to be text, general, number and
nothing seems to keep the "0".
Any ideas?

Thanx

On Step 3 of the "Text to Columns" Wizard, make sure you set BOTH columns to
format as text. By default, only the first column is select, thus any
changes made here are only to that column.

It works fine for me. Just to clarify, in the Data Preview window on Step 3
of the Wizard, you're clicking to highlight your 2nd colmun there, before
selecting "Text" as your Column Data Format?

That should work. If not, what version of Excel are you using? I'm using
Excel 2003. Perhaps there is some difference in older versions that I'm not
aware of.
