I have a worksheet which I would like to be able to use, but dont know how to
put a formula in to give me the info. have tried to enclose a sample hope it works. Would like to enter a 1 or 0 or A in the adjacent colum as soon, but would like to be able to gather and show all 1 or 0 or A with the adjacent cell, and would like the totaol number of cells to equal 100% when complet but to be able show the percetage of cells completed. Can someone help me. hi,
if my understand is correct I suggest you to use: 1. to see the percentage of the cels completed (with 1,0 or A) assuming that the FC's are on the C column and the 1,0 or A on the D put on the end of the D column a formula =counta(d4:d15)/counta(c4:c15) 2. use an altofilter to see the A's, 1's or 0's that you have. hth Regaards from Brazil Marcelo 3. Are you sure that you've formatted the result as percentage (not as number
or general)? "fomula problems" wrote in message ... Cheers Marcelo The formula you gave only show the percentage of 1 and i want the percentage of 100. .... |

Am I right in assuming that the formula you gave me works on each column is 1%.

Use COUNTA(A2:A13) to determine the number of non-empty cells in the columns
with the FD002020 type references. Then use COUNTIF(B2:B13,1), COUNTIF(B2:B13,"A"), etc, to count the number of cells containing 1, "A", etc. From here you should have enough information to calculat thte percentage of 1s, "A"s, etc. Alternatively, if you are just looking to find the number of empty cells in the adjacent columns, you can use COUNTBLANK(B2:B13). To get an aggregate, COUNTA will work on columns that aren't adjoining, so you can separate the columns with a comma =COUNTA(D2:D13,F2:F13,H2:H13) COUNTIF(xx) requires that the cells adjoin, but given the look of your data, you might be able to select the whole range from A1 to F14 and still get correct results.
