Pivot Table Refresh Problem

I can't get rid of a column in a pivot table.

After manually changing the date selection criteria in a query that supports
a pivot table report, the pivot table report continues to display that date
as a column even though there is no data to support it. The query results
show no records for that time period, and the pivot table is blank for that
period, but the column still exists in the pivot table report.

I've tried rearranging the table and manually refreshing the report, but the
unwanted column still exists. What can I do to to get rid of this column?

This described the problem perfectly. The manual fix did not work, but the
supplied macro did.

Thank you so very much.
