Conditionally format one cell for contents of another?
I need to format cells in one column depending on the contents of
corresponding cells in another column. Any suggestions? |
Conditionally format one cell for contents of another?
Use a formula that anchors the column in both columns:
In C2: =$a2=6 The row will vary with the selection, but the column reference won't change. Use conditional formatting (format conditional formatting) but change the
first drop-down to read 'Formula Is' (instead of 'Cell Value Is'). Then create a formula that returns TRUE when you want the format applied, ex: =b1=2 would set the format (in the cell in which you apply the conditional format) when the value in cell B2 is 2.
