How do I see the formula calculation used in Excel functions box

If I use the Excel Functions box for a formula such as the financial formula
PMT is there a way to see how Excel actually uses all the elements of the
formula? I am using Excel 2003.

Your question is ambiguous. If Bob's answer is not what you were seeking,
then see Help for the PV worksheet function, which gives the mathematical
relationship among the various arguments for the financial functions.
