Improved Excel functions curve fitting in sheet
There is no significant improvement in Excel during about last 10 years.
For example curve fitting is only in graph window. It would be useful to have similar functions available in cells. Why are they not implemented? It would make Excel much more useful. Ofcourse it can be overcome by matrix operations, but it is complicated. For example following function would be wellcome: polycurvefit(3 degree, parameter 2, rangecellsx & y) or logcurvefit (parameter_no, rangex&y....) ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. There is no significant improvement in Excel during about last 10 years. Colored worksheet tabs! Full file pathname in printout headers/footers! [Orwellian] SmartTags! Task Pain! No improvements indeed!! [Warning: the forgoing isn't intended for irony challenged.] For example curve fitting is only in graph window. Read up on LINEST, LOGEST, TREND and GROWTH functions, and consider searching Google Groups in the Excel newsgroups for the term 'curve fitting'. |
