Words > Numbers (i.e. Vanity Phone Numbers) function
Can anyone point me to an excel function that would
automate the process seen at http://www.phonespell.org/? The intent is to convert a word (first 10 characters) into the appropriate numbers. Thanks, Don |
Hi
you have to create this on your own in VBA. Just processing every single character of a string. Not really tested but try: Public Function create_number(sText As String) As String Dim i As Integer Dim sReturn As String For i = 1 To Len(sText) Select Case UCase(Mid(sText, i, 1)) Case "A", "B", "C" sReturn = sReturn & "2" Case "D", "E", "F" sReturn = sReturn & "3" Case "g", "H", "I" sReturn = sReturn & "4" Case "J", "K", "L" sReturn = sReturn & "5" Case "M", "N", "O" sReturn = sReturn & "6" Case "P", "Q", "R", "S" sReturn = sReturn & "7" Case "T", "U", "V" sReturn = sReturn & "8" Case "W", "X", "Y", "Z" sReturn = sReturn & "9" End Select Next create_number = sReturn End Function -- Regards Frank Kabel Frankfurt, Germany "Don" schrieb im Newsbeitrag ...
