Add negs, Add positives
 

I want to be able to sum only negative numbers ... then on another row, sum
the positive numbers but don't know how to do that unless I sort my ss, and
I don't want to because the negs and pos all relate to certain objects.

=SUMIF($A$1:$A$9,"0")

Sum neg.:

=SUMIF(A:A,"<0")

Sum pos.:

=SUMIF(A:A,"0")

Hi Annette

use the SUMIF function
=SUMIF(A1:A10,"<"&0) for negative numbers
=SUMIF(A1:A10,""&0) for positive numbers
where the numbers are in cells A1 to A10

=SUM((A1:A100)*(A1:A1000))
=SUM((A1:A100)*(A1:A100<0))
both entered as array functions (Ctrl+Shift+Enter)

Sheesh ... you all have the same answer so I guess that means I have an
