I'm new to excel spreadsheets, and would like to know what to do when value
comes up in the totals column |

that means that somewhere in that column there is a formula or function with
an "error".If the total is value either that formula is giving the value error or somewhere in the column you have a value error.Without knowing what you have cant say any more than that look in help for Correct a #VALUE! error -- paul remove nospam for email addy!
