How do I set cell colors based on if query

I am trying to write a formula that will set the cell one colour if true or
another if false.

Is this possible and how do I do it?

Check out Conditional Formatting at Debra Dalgleish's Contextures website:

http://www.contextures.com/xlCondFormat01.html

Does that help?

Check out *Conditional Formatting* in Help then, (in XL97 at least):

*Highlight data that meets conditions you specify*

And finally

*Apply conditional formats to cells*
