How do I change content of a cell based on date
 

I want to delete certain cell contents based on a future date

Do you mean delete cells with this future date, or deletes certain cells if
an associated cell has the date.

Onepossibility:

Look at Data=filter=Autofilter

filter on the date

Select the data (not the headers) and do Edit=Delete

Only the visible rows should be deleted.
