link issues
 

I have four rs232 balances inputing data into an excel worksheet (this will
be referred to as 'the worksheet'). The software is in development in Visual
Basic and at the moment it will drop info from balance 1, to column ranges
A-E, balance 2 F-J, etc, incrementing rows for each subsequent input etc. I
need the data to finally go into a seperate final spreadsheet for each
balance. I have setup links from this final spreadsheet to take the data
from "the worksheet".
The problem I am having is that if "the worsheet" is opened first, before
the final spreadsheets, then the data will go into ANY active spreadsheet
(not what I want), but the links work. If I open "the worksheet" last (the VB
program actually opens "the worksheet") then the dat will always go into the
right sheet, no matter what spreadsheet is active, however, then my links
will not work. It appears that my final spreadsheets are not recognizing "the
worksheet" as "the worksheet".

If anyone may have any tips for me please help!
