Why does'nt sheet protection allow CTRL+PAGEUP/DOWN to work?

I want to move from worksheet to worksheet using ctrl+pageup/down but when I
protect the worksheet the function no longer works. Using the mouse works
fine but I would like to use the keyboard, it's faster. Why does this
function go away?
