excel links update not working in auto, calculations in auto
 

I bought a new computer with xp on it, since I have started using xp I have
an excel program that does not update external links automatically. The
links/updates is set in auto and the tools/options/calculalation is set to
auto. I can high light the links and do a manual link okay but the auto
update links does not work.
