2 Q's. How to add X months to a date &

Q. 1: 2/12/04 + 6 months ? Result wanted is 8/12/04
Q. 2: Looking for a matrix to calculate proposed hourly rate increases over
pre-set time periods while looking to see if a junior employee would exceed a
veteran employee's hourly wage over time.

Example - A 6 year employee was hired at current starting wage at that time.
New employees will be hired under a proposed increase starting pay (to
remain competitive in the market) All employees receive a predetermined
increase every 6 months. Now after a couple years, junior employees will
exceed veteran employees hourly wage. A readjustment is needed. Need a
matrix with formulas with an argument linked to another cell which would be
used to test increase results.
