MS Excel should allow you to format numerical values to thousand.

In the business world, financial results are frequently reported in
"thousands". In order to achieve this in excel, you need to add the formula;
(=/1000). However it should be as easy as clicking on "format", choosing
"cells", "number" and selecting this option from the drop down menu.
