Fill in contents based on another column
Hi, I am new to excel. I have the following data: Zip Chapter 94789 50000 I need the chapter filled in based on the zip. i.e if zip < 10000, fill in NY chapter, if between 90000 & 95000, fill in SF-bay etc. Is there a way to define this without using vlookup i.e having the data in same/another worksheet? Fill in contents based on another column
Nope. If you have a long list of zips, the absolute best method is vlookup.
What do you have against it? Vlookup can use a named range as the area, and you can put it on another worksheet, and even hide that sheet if you like. See: http://www.officearticles.com/excel/...soft_excel.htm ************ Hope it helps! Anne Troy www.OfficeArticles.com "asra" wrote in message ... Hi, I am new to excel.
