Does anyone know how to develop forumulas or algorithms for various cells?
 

I am working in Microsoft Excel 2003. I have a problem that requires
me to develop a 27-week labor schedule. In making this schedule I
have capacity requirements (limits on values) for certain weeks. I
also have forecasted demands for those 27-weeks that are related to my
labor schedule during those 27-weeks. If my value for the labor
schedule during those 27-weeks exceeds the capacity requirement then I
have to make changes in my forecasted demand (which exists in other
cells). So, I need to develop a formula in the forecasted demand
cells that tells it to automatically change it's value to an optimal
value so that the cells within the 27-weeks don't exceed the capacity
requirements. Does anyone know how to do this? What funciton do I
need to use? Thanks for any help.

sounds like you should use solver - a simple linear program optimizer
located under tools
