John Smith

=SUM question

New to excel.
Can I use a =SUM formula to add a column of times. eg 12:15+03:30+10:00 and
have the answer in fractions...in this case 25.75
Thanks

Trevor Shuttleworth

John

=SUM(A1:A3)*24

and format the result as General

John

also new to News Groups ?

Please don't multi-post. You have had the same answer from two different
people in two different groups. The same people look at pretty much all of
the related groups so by doing this you're wasting everyone's time and
effort.

See one reply to your post in m.p.e.newusers.

Please don't post the same message in multiple groups. It just fragments
any answers you get, and potentially wastes the time of those replying
to questions that have already been answered.

For tips on using these groups effectively, see
