How do I copy a formula?

Excel 2003 -WIN XP. I am trying to copy a formula from one cell to several.
My previous program (Office 97), worked just fine with the Lotus commands(/).
I clicked on the cell to coppy, clicked Edit/Copy, it turned into a dotted
line. I clicked on a cell to copy it to and clicked Edit/paste -- NOTHING!.
I have done this several times. I even tried Paste Special. Am I missing
something here?

Hi
have you tried the menu options as well (menu 'Edit - copy')?

Bonjour,
I think you can easely clik on the origin cell with your right button; you
will see a small window on which you slect copy. Then clik with left button
on destination cell and then click right button again the window, then select
past.
Normally it should work ... who knows!!!

Right clicking is the same as using the "Menu" Edit/Copy. It doesn't copy
anything. I do get the little box with the clipboard on it that pops up,
with several choices. Makes no difference what I choose. Also i can't seem
to get that box to go away. This is a new installation, am I missing
something?

If pasting back into Excel, copy your cell as described previously then
select Edit/Paste Special. From the options you can then select
Formula.

If you want to copy the formula outside of Excel, you must highlight
the formula first (either from the formula bar or press F2) then select
Copy either by right clicking or via the menu Edit/Copy. You should then
be able to paste the formula to other applications.
