Formula/Macro to copy into a cell
I have a spreadsheet that allows me to place a word in one cell and it searches for that word in several columns. When it finds a match it highlites the cell with the matched word. What I would like, rather than highliting the cell, is to have the speadsheet copy the matched cell into a cell in another column. If there are multiple matches, it would copy all of them into a cell. Any idea's? -- ebraun01 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ebraun01's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=30340 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=506241 |
Formula/Macro to copy into a cell
Hi!
Still at it? <g The best way to do what you want is by using a VBA macro. I can't help with that since I'm basically VBA illiterate. I would suggest you post this in the Programming Forum. I've seen that you posted this a few times over the past weeks without any replies. If you get to be "desperate" this "could" be done with formulas (something I'm pretty good at!) but it won't be EXACTLY as you you have in mind. You can only do so much with a formula! I'll check back in a day or two and if you still haven't made any progress I'll let you know how to contact me and we'll get this done! Try the Programming Forum first. This shouldn't be too dificult with VBA. Loop through the columns and extract the matches! Biff "ebraun01" wrote in message ... Yeah I'm trying to get this thing the way I want it, unfortunately it's kind of by trial and error for me to figure out what I want. I really appreciate the help you have given me. I will do as you suggest and head over to the other forum. Thanks. -- ebraun01 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ebraun01's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=30340 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=506241 |
