Template Creation

I have the responsibility of generating a daily report via a text file that
is updated nightly. I want to have a template that would remain formatted
with column headings and other page formatting. Is there a way to create a
template whereas data can be added daily without always recreating the
spreadsheet?

Crazy question? I know.

There is a way that I think will work.

You must not have row or column numbers exceeding Excel maximum (65536
and 256)

Open a new workbook.
You will have to use the menu :
Data...
Import Text File
Selectionne the path of the file you want to use as data
Then selectionne where you want your data to go
May be leave a few lines if you intend to put a title or something.
Then the data will be there
Then format as you please
Then save as a template: extension xlt ie: data.xlt.
Close the file
Then if you open Excel and do new, it should be the name data under the
tab general
By clicking you will have a new workbook with data and formating.

You may want to practise a little at importing data to get familiar
with the feature
Francoise;)
