Try this:

For a value in A1
B1: =A1^(1/3)

Does that help?

Try using the POWER function Bob. Let's say that you want to find the cube
root of x, then =POWER(x,1/3) would work. In any case, to find the nth root
of x, the generalization is =POWER(x,1/n) or like the others suggested
=x^1/n, with n being non-zero.
