Every time I try to copy or cut information on an excel worksheet and paste
it in another cell in the same worksheet it pastes the whole worksheet and in the paste special window it only gives me the option to paste bitmap. Please advise |

It sounds like you have two instances of excel running.
Close one of the excel instances and use file|Open in the other instance to open the second workbook. Now try your copy|paste. ===== If you got two separate instances by mistake (maybe by double clicking in windows explorer), you can change this so that the files open in one instance. Sometimes one of these works: Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it) --- or --- Close Excel and Windows Start Button|Run excel /unregserver then Windows Start Button|Run excel /regserver The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's factory defaults. Do you use the CORDIAL spelling software. If yes you have to disable it
