Date and Time formula

I have a date & time as follows in one cell: 1/10/06 15:00.
I would like to create a formula in a differenct cell that automatically
deducts 8 hours of the time above. Instead of 1/10/06 15:00, the new cell
should show 8 hours less than that.

When I take the above and take 8 off, it deducts 8 days. But I only need it
to deduct 8 hours.

Ideas anyone? Thanks.

Subtract 1/3; just like you see it subtracting 8 days, this would subtract
one third of a day, or eight hours.
