I have a workbook containing types of orders. I have them separated out by
€ścounty€ť and also by €śdate closed€ť. How do I return a number that counts the
number closed within a specified county?

One way:

Assuming County is in column A and Date Closed in column B:

=SUMPRODUCT(--(A1:A1000="County Cork"), --(B1:B1000<""))

A Pivot Table would be a good alternative.
