date updated conditionally based upon other cells
 

Could someone help me with this?

I want dates in column A to update automatically when a value is entered or
changed in any of a series of cells

For example:

A1 is 1/16/06 and cells G1 through P1 are empty

then

on 1/17/06 I enter data in cell L1 so I want that to cause cell A! to now
reflect this updated date.
