The negative brackets in Excel 2002 version do not appear. Why?
I have tried the suggestions from other users but the brackets do not appear.
This problem is only in Excel 2002 because I have Excel 2003 at work and the brackets are there. |

Select the cells, go to Format Cells Number and select or enter a format
that uses brackets for negative numbers. "Ledeb" wrote in message ... I have tried the suggestions from other users but the brackets do not appear. This problem is only in Excel 2002 because I have Excel 2003 at work and the brackets are there. |

Don't know what you have tried but this is the standard fix if negative
brackets are not available in the NumberNegative Numbers dialog. This is a function of your Regional Settings in Windows OS. StartSettingsControl PanelRegional and Language SettingsRegional OptionsCustomizeCurrencyNegative Currency Format. Click on drop-down arrow and select the ($1.1) Note: this is under the "Currency" tab in Regional Options. Changing under the "Numbers" tab only does not do the trick. Apply and OKApply your way out. Thank you for your reply. I tried your suggestion you gave to a different
user with the same problem but it didn't work. There seems to be something different in Excel 2002 that's not letting the brackets show up. That's unfortunate.
I can turn this formatting on/off in Excel by following the steps below. Perhaps the different user did not go to the "Currency" tab in Regional OptionsCustomize. The mistake most users make is they think they should change it under the "Numbers" tab. Gord On Mon, 5 Dec 2005 16:34:02 -0800, "Ledeb" wrote: Thank you for your reply.
