How do I disable text-to-speech in excel?

My excel keep talking. Whenever I type something and entre, it repeats what
is typed. How do I disable this?

Hi,

From the help file:
Turn the Office Assistant sound on or off
Some of the content in this topic may not be applicable to some languages.

To hear sound from the Office Assistant, you must have a sound card
installed on your computer.

1.. Click the Assistant.
If the Office Assistant isn't visible, click Show the Office Assistant on
the Help menu.

2.. In the Office Assistant balloon, click Options.
If the Office Assistant balloon isn't visible, click the Assistant.

3.. On the Options tab, select or clear the Make sounds check box.

Regards

Paul
