Keeping Array values?
Dear Excel Experts: Would you consider helping out a novice with one quick and simple question. When you are looking for a value in an array based upon the result of a formula and the data in the array is constantly changing, how do you capture and keep the values from the formula as they are captured? My problem boils down to this. If the "IF" statement below is true I get the value for the closing price of the stock that it matches. If the statement is false I want to retain the previous value in that cell or some other cell, not the false constant. This is not working: =IF(B2 = TICKERC4,TODAYSCLOSE,"-- • --") I am guessing that is a common problem with a really easy and obvious solution. I have tried everything including doing calculation on the matched value and then working backwards to re-create the original value. There must be a simpler way! I found on this forum the opposite situation where the value is changing and the array is constant. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Michael J.
