John

extracting data

I saved a note pad document into a excel document. All the fields are in
column A. The data is a mix of text and numbers. i.e. gas bottle pressure
100.
The spaces between pressure and 100 come from the note pad document. How do
I export just the number into another sheet?

Totally lost,
JOHN

extracting data

Select the data in column A and then from the menus use DataText To
Columns to get the pressure into it's own column. Probably choose
Delimited on the first screen and Space on the second.

Hope this helps

Great, Thanks. However, Rowan I need to go from here to selecting the data.
Now that the data are in columns I need to extract specific data. Here's the
kicker. The data I am searching for doesn't always fall on the same row. How
do I search/look or find the data then put it in a sperate column? Thanks
kindly
