Suppose the number you are about to type is 12.
Instead type=12*1.08 Or if you have a column of numbers: type in the numbers Type 1.08 in a blank cell and copy Select the column of numbers and use Edit|Paste Special-Multiply best wishes -- Bernard Liengme www.stfx.ca/people/bliengme remove CAPS in email address "Chris B." wrote in message m... Hi
if you need this in the same cell you'll need VBA (an event procedure). Why not use an adjancet cell with the formula =IF(A1<"",A1*1.08,"") -- Regards Frank Kabel Frankfurt, Germany "Chris B." schrieb im Newsbeitrag m... Here is a VBA solution.
Change the H1:H10 to the range of your choice Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) On Error GoTo ws_exit: Application.EnableEvents = False If Not Intersect(Target, Me.Range("H1:H10")) Is Nothing Then With Target If IsNumeric(.Value) Then .Value = .Value * 1.08 End If End With End If ws_exit: Application.EnableEvents = True End Sub 'This is worksheet event code, which means that it needs to be 'placed in the appropriate worksheet code module, not a standard 'code module. To do this, right-click on the sheet tab, select 'the View Code option from the menu, and paste the code in. -- HTH RP "Chris B." wrote in message m...
