Using a UNC
 

I have links that I don't want to change, how do I make them a UNC?

Someone suggested that I use edit links and navigate to the file, but I do
not see how that make the link a UNC.

What is a "UNC"?

The indirect() function might do what you want.
I am not sure what you are asking for.

According to Atricle ID: 328440 "Description of link management and storage
in excel" they say "To create an absolute link, use a Universal Naming
Convention (UNC) path" . I am trying to create this absolute link.

I cannot figure out how to create this UNC path. According to another
source, the path would look like \\subdirectory\subdirectory. I tried that
and it highlights the text like it is a live link, but it does not pull the
data in and when clicked says it cannot open the file.
