ExcelBanter - Invoice numbers

I have would like to create an invoice template in excel and each time
I use the template to create an invoice have a number assigned to the
new invoice automatically.
I have tried many times to do this using what other people have told me
to do but to no avail. I am not proficient in excel or with the
computer. I have never created a macro.
