DATe time to time only

Can someone tell me how to convert DATE AND TIME TO time only with a formula?
2018-08-21 07:59:45 EDT to Time only so this would be 7:59:45 A.M.

I tried the date the mod nothing is working please help?
I think this is in text format.

your timestamp in A1. Then try:
=MOD(SUBSTITUTE(A1,"EDT",),1)
or
=MOD(LEFT(A1,LEN(A1)-4),1)
