lookup cell content in multiple files
 

Dear All,

I have a number of xls files (upwards of 200) which I need to search for the
content of a particular cell. ( cell X,Y co-ordinates are identical for each
file). Each file is the name of a person and I would like to be able to list
all files that contain the required content. Simply put, the cell I wish to
examine in all the files, either contains an "X" or doesn't, ie. IF content
of X,Y cell contains "X" THEN display file name. So far I'm having great
difficulty in finding any program that will either allow me to input the cell
co-ordinates to initiate the search, or permit a search over several xls
files. Can anyone help please?
