COUNTIF?
I am attempting to count the number of "X" in non adjacent cells, but have
had no success so far. I have recurring table for 12 people being surveyed, so that I am looking to count how many people have certain experience which the X signifies. Using the insert formula I get this: =COUNTIF(C12,I12,O12,U12,AM12,AS12,AY12,BE12,BK12, BQ12,"X") The error is "too many functions" Can anyone assist please, on modifying my formula (or identifying a different formula?) to clear the error? Many thanks, Malcolm |

Many thanks, Malcolm Try... =countif(12:12,"X") OR give the cells a defined name and use... =countif(ThisExperience,"X") ...and for another range of cells... =countif(ThatExperience,"X") ...and so on. -- Garry Free usenet access at http://www.eternal-september.org Classic VB Users Regroup! comp.lang.basic.visual.misc microsoft.public.vb.general.discussion |
COUNTIF?
Hi Malcom,

If there are also x in the other columns the should not be count then try: =SUMPRODUCT(--(MOD(COLUMN(C12:BQ12),6)=3),--(C12:BQ12="x")) Regards Claus B. -- Vista Ultimate / Windows7 Office 2007 Ultimate / 2010 Professional |
